Toyota Electrified Vehicles
Toyota Canada’s electrified vehicle sales up 96.2% in December, up 42.7% for the quarter
Clearly, Toyota’s electrified vehicle lineup is not merely getting more popular. Sales are accelerating – quickly. And to make you feel even more comfortable buying your first electrified Toyota, since model year 2020, every Toyota Hybrid Battery Warranty has been increased from 8 years or 160,000 kilometres to 10 years from the original date of first use, or 240,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
Let’s take a closer look at three particularly popular options:
2021 Toyota Venza Mid-Sized Crossover (Hybrid)
“This is an all-new Venza – and an all-new expression of what a mid-size crossover can be,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “From performance, efficiency, and safety, to a long list of features and premium amenities as standard equipment, the Venza breaks new ground – and does so at an impressively accessible price.”
Powered exclusively by Toyota’s industry-leading hybrid-electric powertrain technology, the new Venza combines advanced, confident, fun-to-drive performance with the best fuel-efficiency in the mid-size two-row crossover segment. Built around a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and three electric motors, the Toyota Hybrid System has been specially tailored to this model. The result is impressive power output matched by impressive fuel efficiency: 219 horsepower, smooth yet spirited acceleration, and estimated fuel efficiency of just 6.1L / 100km (city/highway combined) to let you do more with less.
The Toyota Venza also recently earned the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) award.
2021 Toyota Sienna Minivan (Hybrid)
“This is an all-new Sienna – one that’s ready to redefine the segment – and we’re making it easy for Canadians to enjoy the advantages and efficiencies of hybrid power,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc.
Every model is attractively priced and includes the class-leading fuel-saving advantages of the world’s most popular and proven advanced, electrified powertrain – the Toyota Hybrid System II. It delivers 245 total horsepower and a 6.5 L/100km combined fuel consumption for front-wheel-drive models (6.7 L/100 km for all-wheel-drive models), setting a benchmark for the segment, all while operating seamlessly and transparently.
2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. confidently stated “Whatever model you choose, the RAV4 delivers driving fun, plus the comfort, style, versatility, safety, and efficiency that modern lives demand. And then we make each RAV4 better, with popular amenities and powerful, easy to use technologies that keep you connected with everything that matters, wherever your desire to explore takes you.”
Hybrid models feature the Toyota Hybrid Drive – the most popular and proven electrified power train on the planet. This system, custom-configured for the RAV4 Hybrid, is built around Atkinson cycle 2.5-litre Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine coupled to a continuously variable transmission. The result is 219 Net Horsepower and a combined city/highway fuel efficiency rating of just 6.0L / 100km.
2021 RAV4 Prime (Plug-In Hybrid)
This is the first-ever RAV4 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). And so, in addition to an ability to do 0-96 km/h in a projected 5.8 seconds, which is the second quickest acceleration time in the Toyota lineup, it can drive an estimated 60 kilometres on battery alone on a single charge, which is the highest EV range of any PHEV SUV on the market. The RAV4 Prime also has a manufacturer-estimated 2.6 Le/100 km fuel consumption. Welcome to a new chapter of Toyota SUV performance.
