Atlantic Canada Toyota dealers match company donation to Hurricane Fiona relief efforts with additional $100,000
TORONTO, Ontario – October 4, 2022 – Toyota dealers in Atlantic Canada announced today that they will be matching last week’s $100,000 corporate Toyota donation to the Canadian Red Cross Hurricane Fiona Appeal, doubling the company’s support for the ongoing relief efforts in Eastern Canadian communities impacted by last week’s storm.
The Canadian Red Cross is currently on the ground and working closely with community leaders to provide emergency humanitarian assistance, including supportive services such as shelter, food and clothing, and emotional support for those coping with loss.
“Throughout the year, Toyota Dealers actively support their local communities and, when Atlantic Canada was hard hit with one of the worst storms to date, we knew we had to provide as much support as possible for the people who have been impacted. We’re proud to support the Canadian Red Cross and their teams who are on the front lines providing essential resources and relief as communities continue to recover and rebuild.” – Charles Roussel and Joshua MacGrath, Toyota Atlantic Zone Dealer Communication Team members
Last week, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI), Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) and Toyota Financial Services (TFS) made a combined donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross. Together with their Atlantic Canada dealers, Toyota will now be contributing $200,000 to the organization’s Hurricane Fiona Appeal.
“The thoughts of the entire Toyota family are with our fellow Canadians in the affected provinces – including our customers, dealers, employees and communities – as they come together to overcome this historic disaster,” said Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO of TCI. “We feel it’s important to support the recovery efforts of organizations like the Canadian Red Cross as they work to provide shelter, essential resources and other supports for people who’ve been affected by this natural disaster.”
